LITHO CLUB MISSION STATEMENT
The object of this club shall be to provide an opportunity for the mutual
interchange of information relative to the science of graphic arts communication
as well as to promote a spirit of cooperation and good fellowship among
its members and thereby further the maintenance of high standards of craftsmanship
and efficiency. To accomplish the above, cooperation with other Litho
Clubs and other graphic arts organizations shall be encouraged.
WHAT IS A LITHO CLUB?
A Litho Club is an organized group of ambitious and progressive members
of the graphic arts industry who seek to improve themselves in the mastery
of their art, advance the individual progress of its membership and the
progress of the industry in general. Its membership is made up of managerial
staff, technical production and mechanical personnel, and salespeople
who are associated with some branch of the graphic arts.
It receives its charter from the National Association of Litho Clubs,
Inc. It thus becomes a member of, and participates in the activities and
management of the national organization. The local clubs manage their
own affairs and arrange their own programs. The local clubs are supported
principally by dues paid by the membership, the amount of which is determined
by the club in accordance with its needs. The local clubs also support
the National Association through a nominal, per capita tax which is practically
the sole income of the National Association.
THE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF A LITHO CLUB
To build personality, develop leadership and to provide the opportunity
for its membership to increase their knowledge and improve their skill
in the practice of the trade.
To promote meetings at which the membership is given the opportunity of
learning about the latest developments and research in the industry and
to provide the opportunity for an honest interchange of information relative
to the offset industry.
To promote a spirit of cooperation and good fellowship among its members.
The Litho Clubs constitute a forum for the discussion of any and all topics
in which members of the lithographic trade and industry are interested.
At these meetings every member is at liberty to express his or her opinions
and contribute their knowledge in any discussion that is pertinent to
the advancement of the graphic arts.
WHAT A LITHO CLUB MEANS TO YOU...
Results of the activities of the members of a Litho Club will be in direct
proportion to the interest and energy displayed by the officers and members.
You cannot take out of an organization of this kind more than you put
into it. Certain benefits are inevitable to every member of an organized
club. As a member of a litho club you belong to an organization that is
dedicated to the advancement of the graphic arts industry. You will be
associated with men and women who understand your operations and processes.
They are banded together for the purpose of advancing and promoting all
phases of the graphic arts.
The immediate benefits you will receive from membership will be from your
local club meetings and its activities.
Each club provides an educational meeting every month at which some aspect
of the industry is discussed by an experienced and interesting professional.
Video programs showing new developments may be shown, clinics held, exhibits
set up and forums conducted in which you can personally participate. All
of these activities offer opportunities for you to learn about new techniques
and technologies or to take advantage of other professionals’ experience
and expertise to solve problems or identify opportunities.
The educational responsibility shared by the members of the NALC is not
taken lightly. Continuing education of each individual ensures the advancement
of the industry as a whole. Memberships in a litho club brings you into
close association with those who are dedicated to the advancement of their
art; men and women who exhibit a spirit of friendliness, helpfulness,
and sincere cooperation. You are immediately associated with a new circle
of friends with whom you can relate on a common ground. Because of the
many interests among the club members, you might well develop deep friendships.
If you take an active part in club activities, accept assignments on committee’s
and share your knowledge with fellow members, you will receive benefits
far beyond what you might anticipate.
